In recent years, the types and quantities of biologically refractory organic pollutants in pharmaceutical wastewater have gradually increased, posing a growing threat to the ecological environment. The main characteristics of pharmaceutical wastewater include a very high COD concentration, poor biodegradability, and low biological degradation potential. The wastewater contains nitrogenous organic compounds, sulfides, toxic organic substances, and residual antibiotics. Notably, whether using physical-chemical or biochemical treatment technologies, a single treatment technology is insufficient to achieve satisfactory treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater. Therefore, to achieve better treatment outcomes and economic efficiency for specific water quality and treatment requirements, it is necessary to combine and optimize different processes.
Anhui Huaxing Chemical Co., Ltd. mainly produces fine chemical products, including insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and formulations. The wastewater contains substances such as azoxystrobin, glyphosate, benzonitrile, imidacloprid, monocrotophos, and difenoconazole.

Wastewater Quality: The raw water COD is 30,000 mg/L, and the overall process aims to achieve an effluent COD of ≤50 mg/L.

In this process, the initial wastewater has a COD of 30,000 mg/L. After the micro-electrolysis process followed by coagulation and sedimentation, the effluent COD is reduced to ≤24,000 mg/L, achieving a removal rate of 53%.
Then, the microchannel reactor treats wastewater with a COD of 150 mg/L, further reducing it to ≤50 mg/L, resulting in a removal rate of 67%.

Influent Water Volume:2400m³/d
